It's a gift you give your readers through your blog.

I worked with a very talented artist. We both worked for a large truck manufacturing company. Since retiring from that company, Art (an appropriate name, don't you think?) has become a college art instructor and has been able to devote more time to his art. Here is a link to a Web site that he shares with another artist: http://www.cislo-and-brinn-art.com/

I also have a cousin-in-law who is a very talented artist. He painted on rocks, cardboard, newspaper and whatever he could find. His wife left him with children, including her own son. There were times he lived under a bridge and he told his own son that he, the boy, was the son of God. And so his life unfurled, in spasms of madness and tragedy, but he was a truly brilliant painter. There was a time when he
painted a series of field stones and then placed them in remote areas where they will be found only by accident. It was about doing the art, not sharing it.Tom Cochrunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04046822056852446079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4300332596847087857.post-66064968225524717782012-01-18T14:32:32.030-08:002012-01-18T14:32:32.030-08:00Which art?Which art?IT (aka Ivan Toblog)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07484236901066944983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4300332596847087857.post-61113098680808608142012-01-18T11:55:07.731-08:002012-01-18T11:55:07.731-08:00'Moon' Mullins was a shipmate in the Navy ...'Moon' Mullins was a shipmate in the Navy who could take an idea or thought and turn it into a really good pen and ink drawing at the drop of a hat.(not necessarily your) Uncle Skiphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02705753220273516841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4300332596847087857.post-80949881174805582162012-01-18T08:57:05.040-08:002012-01-18T08:57:05.040-08:00That's a great, albeit sad, story.

He was a drummer, grew up in the same neighborhood of Boston as I did, and he was easily the best drummer I've ever heard. And I don't just mean from the many metal and punk bands I was a part of or had heard play in local dives and rehearsal rooms; I mean EVER. The guy could play rings around everybody I personally knew, and I would have gladly pitted him against any professional drummer for technique, speed, style, or any other test of a drummer's worth.

I played with him only a couple of times myself, impromptu jams with a guitarist to complete a trio. Pure joy. He picked up on wherever I was going, as a bass player, almost before I did it. Whatever chord changes or changes in tempo I headed for, I knew Johnny would be there when I arrived.

Last I heard of him, and this was almost thirty years ago, he was playing in cover bands. I've Googled his full name and come up with nothing that would appear to be him. Real shame. He is still the best damn drummer I ever heard.Suldoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07778845367184916684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4300332596847087857.post-90036832242975096282012-01-18T08:13:27.197-08:002012-01-18T08:13:27.197-08:00I've not encountered anything like this, but h...I've not encountered anything like this, but have met many talented people.
