Those familiar with Chubby Chatterbox know that I was a professional illustrator for many years and that I have a file cabinet of peculiar pictures that, for one reason or another, were never published. I thought this illustration would get a lot of use when I painted it about five years ago, but you never can tell what images will please art directors and which ones won’t. I always liked this little demon, but maybe he scared people away.
Do you have a possible title for this picture, or a suggestion for how it could be used?
"Even Satan is afraid of the Banks" Not sure why the piggy bank represents "The Banks" to me....
ReplyDeleteHe seems so annoying !!
ReplyDeleteI immediately thought of my IRA. I loike Kelly's comment too. Images of money thrown down a rathole. Or spending money you don't have, instead of saving... whatever, I kinda like it, Stephen. Would make a great photo prompt for Magpie Tales. Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThe demon is not so cute to me, maybe if there were an angel on the other side I could make more sense of the scene. There is always a pull to spend and not save in this country.
ReplyDeletewe came up with two titles:
ReplyDelete"Breaking the Bank" and "Pinching Pennies"
That little imp wouldn't represent the IRS, would he?
ReplyDeleteoh dear Stephen, my first thought concerned Trolls and SP!
ReplyDeleteGollum's Precious?
ReplyDeleteI can't think of a good one right now, but that's a great pic! Enjoyed it~
ReplyDeletehe seems like a happy demon squeezing coins out of that piggy.
ReplyDeletenot just any piggy but somebody's savings.
The Evil Thief.
OPEC squeezes every last penny from those who drive.

so..The Evil Thief.
I didn't come up with a title yet, when I read Kathe W.'s answer. I think both of those are perfect.
ReplyDeleteYou need to print thousands of copies to post them at gas stations all over the nation.
ReplyDeleteMy thought was the same as Bruce's. It's the IRS trying to get every last penny they can out of us.
ReplyDeleteS
If you don't save, Satan will get you. Brwahahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
No suggestion for a title, but he reminds me of something I don't want to see on an airplane wing at 35,000 feet.
ReplyDeleteCan't think of a thing but you sure are one talented illustrator.
ReplyDeleteintersesting for sure!! You are an artist! the devil only traps us like that if we allow it.
ReplyDeleteThe little evil guy is California's Governor Brown squeezing every drop from the taxpayer so the state government can keep spending like they always do.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day. :)
He's an imp, for certain. That look of delight in doing evil is compellingly awful.
ReplyDeleteI really like it too, and it's so relevant right now. Keep dusting off these old pictures and posting them...You never know what may come of it. I don't have a better title suggestion, but there are some good ones above.

yeah - if the demon had been a politician, or a banker then i think this would have sold
ReplyDeleteHere it looks like the piggy is trapped...u can use it to illustrate if something is eating away a person's earning or savings...in an inappropriate way to put into an inappropriate use.. something like that...I like this picture!
