So there I was, on stage in a
theater packed with a thousand people, all eyes riveted on me as I stepped out
onto the stage. I was terrified. Read about it (here).
ha. i always tell people if i dont get a few butterflies i am probably not talking about the right thing.. i take the stage quite often though...i enjoy it..good thing they caught the eye right...now that might not have got as many applause...smiles.
I don't think I ever had more than a hundred people (or maybe 50) watching me on stage. Luckily my school's stage made it real hard to see them while the play was going on.
My wife and I are singer songwriters so we're on stage a good bit. The first time I was on stage was in my high school play. I had the leading male role, and it wasn't in the script but the director of the play heard me playing guitar a few weeks before the performance and asked if I'd consider playing a song in the play. I was sweating before the show, but once on stage, I just breathed and everything went great. Public speaking is on a lot of people's list of things they're terrified of.
