While watching President Obama’s recent State of the Union Address, I spotted something on TV that reminded me of my interest in symbols and customs. Check it out (here).

    I've never noticed them in congress before. But to be fair, Boehner's crying really distracts me from noticing the decor.

    there are interesting correlations to rome all through our country...
    of course rome fell..and well...

    perhaps the wisdom in the fasces...the bound together...
    we could learn from...
