The Greatest Artist I've Ever Known

Grandma Chatterbox is finally home from the hospital and she’s progressing better than she wants to admit. Her surgery has left her weak and she needs assistance to maintain her apartment and independence. It’s fallen on me to find someone to help her. There are many good organizations to draw on and much of my time is currently being spent searching for a suitable individual who can put up with Mom’s idiosyncrasies.

This hasn’t prevented my head from filling with fresh stories, but lately I haven’t had time to read many of your posts much less write new ones of my own. Hopefully my situation will soon return to normal. Until then, here’s another of my favorites….

  1. Good luck with finding someone to care for Grandma Chatterbox. It sounds like that person will need to have a thick skin.

  2. I have been through this with my mother-in-law who was a delightful person. It is never easy getting all the pieces in place. I wish you some good energy and success.

  3. BTW, is anyone else getting this dialog box popping up " username and password are being requested by http://scriptabufarhan.googlecode.com. The site says: "Google Code Subversion Repository" and asking for a username and password? Seems like a phishing scam.

    1. This is just another reason I've moved to a different site. I don't know where this is coming from but it isn't happening at the new site--another reason to sign up and leave comments there.

  4. I guess all old people are eccentric. Too bad about Raoul, but at least he didn't get to prove he was worthy of citizenship by dying in one of our pointless wars.

  5. I'm sorry to hear about your mother, Steve. You are a good son; the difficult times prove that. If I can advise, commiserate, listen, give me a call.
And, I also am worried about the dialog box. I filled in two of my passwords without results (what results?) and now someone else has them? JO

  13. Best of luck to you with finding someone to help with the care of your Mother. I remember when my Great Grandmother reached the point that she needed someone to help her and when she was forced to sell her house and move in with my Grandfather. We lived next door and so was around on a daily basis. I never realized how many things my Great Grandmother was so particular about until then. I must admit I am like her in that regard, to the point that my family calls me compulsive at times. guess I get it honest.
