Peculiar Picture #15

Welcome to my Peculiar Picture Files, where I display one of my illustrations that has yet to find a buyer. This picture is the result of what happens when an artist is bored and doesn’t have a project to work on. I decided to paint a portrait of one of my paintbrushes. I had no idea the result would be so magical and romantic.

If you look closely you’ll see that the paint appears to be cracked, as if this were a really old painting. Actually, this is acrylic, a modern quick-drying plastic paint. I wanted to see if I could achieve the vintage look of an old oil canvas. Most people tell me they think this is oil, so I guess I succeeded.

Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to figuring out what, if anything, this image means.

Note: Coming soon—the new and improved Chubby Chatterbox. Launching 10/15/12
